Tockwith Sportsfield, a brilliant community asset needs your help!
Originating in the 1960’s, the village of Tockwith acquired a farmers field for the use by the community. The Sportsfield Trust was set-up to manage this land on behalf of the Parish Council. Since then additional land has been added and the Sportsfield now offers an array of sports including bowls, tennis, football, an outdoor gym and a club house (with events room).
The Sportsfield Trust is self-sustaining with funds coming from applying for ad-hoc grants for improvements, funding from the user groups and renting out of the club house. The Sportsfield is looked after by a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure we have one of the best facilities in the North.
In order for this first class amenity to remain at the top of its class we are urgently seeking additional funding. Past projects have included a major refurbishment of the clubhouse, new replacement windows, car park resurfacing and floodlights. Recently completed were the installation of a stairlift to increase accessibility and replacement grounds keeping equipment. Future projects may include land drainage systems, pitch barriers and additional changing rooms - with your help.
If you want to help protect what is a vital asset to our community, please support us by purchasing a ticket.
Thank you for reading this and supporting the Tockwith Sportsfield Trust.
