Established in 1977 and entirely run by over 50 volunteers, the organisation has been a steady presence for over 46 years; a source of comfort, and a companion during challenging times for Harrogate District Hospital’s patients, staff, and visitors alike. 

Broadcasting on 95.3FM, online, through their app and on smart speakers, Harrogate Hospital Radio offers diverse programming from the '60s to today. Their flagship show, The Evening Request Show, creates personalised moments for patients from 8 pm to 10 pm, taking requests and dedications. Beyond music, they bring local stars into the spotlight, broadcast live from hospital events and host competitions.

How funds are being used

The money raised through your tickets is used for funding FM radios, which are then distributed to patients and staff across the wards and departments within Harrogate District Hospital.  
For many patients, these radios are their only source of bedside entertainment, making a significant impact on their well-being during their hospital stay.
